Specifics




It's easy to get lost in the social media and advertising world. There are so many ways to get lost, that you don't realize you're chasing every destination that you never really arrive. I've read blog post after blog post realizing that they are just repeating the same information after another, that I feel sometimes that they can't quite create special content on their own.


But I feel you.


The reason why it's this way, is because time and time again, it is the truth.


It's the same strategies over and over again.


But I'll talk more about that later.


What I want to point out is, there's a lot of wasted and productive time on the internet.


Why am I saying this? It's because I know how it feels like to keep reading the same kind of content over and over again only to try to find the gold mine. And that is where we get it so wrong. We keep searching for the gold mine when we could create our own diamonds.


Here's what I want to get at. There are things we should focus on and things that are not going to get us anywhere.


I think this is where we learn to have the turn off button and when to turn on.


We learn to skim, browse, and stop. Sometimes we even get frustrated.


But here is what I have to say.


Don't be frustrated.


If there are gazillion galaxies in this universe, then there are a gazillion ways to do things and to create.


But in all these galaxies, where are you going to be at? If you are a star, how are you going to shine? If you are a planet, what can you offer?


This is where we then realize, we can't do everything on our own immediately and become the galaxy.


The solution?


Be specific.


What do you want to be? What do you want to be special at? Or in other words, where do you want to specialize?


People who learn early on that they can't be good at everything immediately, understand that being good at one thing is better than being the master of none at this moment.


So, what are you going to do?


Are you going to do everything? Or are you going to do something specific?
